VAMOS! When you are in the boat and ready to push off, don't be surprised when you hear the tour guide yell out joyously this Spanish word. Chavacano is a Spanish-based creole language and is spoken by a significant number of ZamboangueƱos. It is our very own unique language. Get to learn a few Chavacano token words when you are on tour!
During daytime boating, you are treated to a handsome sight of beautiful old heritage Fort Pilar, brick orange roofs of restaurant stalls inside the Paseo Del Mar Complex and quite a bit of luscious green, century-old Acacia trees – a view that can easily inspire you ahead of the quick boat-ride.

Beachgoers put on their life jackets handed to them. Wearing a life jacket at all times while boating is important even for a quick boat ride. There are enough life jackets in each boat. This is a common sight every morning whenever you are nearby. The backdrop is actually part of Kape Zambo, a local cafe. Kape Zambo serves delicious Filipino porridge or Arroz Caldo among others. It is a total comfort food for those who would want to warm up before starting the trip. There is not one convenience store in the island or a source of tap water. It is best you bring your own bottled water and food. You can chance upon a fresh catch of crabs and some big fish which the few local men themselves caught in the sea and sold on the same day. Your family can enjoy a tray of delicious steamed crabs which the locals will cook for you. Prices range from 200-250 pesos but you can always haggle for the price. A family of beachgoers flocks the area while waiting for the boat. There's always excitement in the breezy air every morning in this part of town while others go inside the complex bringing with them their fishing tackle to join some who are fishing near the sea wall . It is strategic that the local management has decided to situate the berthing point inside the Paseo Del Mar Complex.
